Cluster Office

From UMassWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A cluster office is an office in the first floor of a dorm that provides services for the students who live in the cluster. Each cluster has a Cluster Office Manager (COM) who oversees the various processes and paperwork, however, the office is also staffed by Resident Assistants (RAs) and a few other people who are hired each semester as office staff. The Residential Director is ultimately in charge of all the staff and the office itself.

An example of a "cluster" is, the CMLK (Crabtree, Mary Lyon, Knowlton) cluster in Northeast. It has its cluster office in the first floor of Crabtree. Residents of any of these three buildings can go to the cluster office to pick up a spare key if they lock themselves out of their room, or to pick up a US mail package that wouldn't fit into their mailbox in their dorm. Other clusters, such as Coolidge in Southwest, only consist of one building.
