Dickinson Hall

Emily Dickinson Hall is one of four dorms that comprise the Orchard Hill residential area. Dickinson has seven floors. It is known as the most secure dorm on campus, since residents must pass through two secure doors to enter. The office in Dickinson serves both Dickinson and Webster residents: the office has back-up room keys, holds packages, and serves as a check-in and check-out office for students moving in and out of both dorms. The name 'Dickinson' is a shortened version of the dorm's full name: Emily Dickinson.

[edit] Classroom Confusion

Dickinson contains classrooms on its ground floor. Confusion often arises between classes taught in the Dickinson dorm and classes taught in the ROTC building which bears the same name. On student schedules the Office of the Registrar traditionally lists Dickinson classrooms as some variation of the name "Emily" and ROTC classrooms as "Dickinson."
