Dive Bar Style
From UMassWiki
Dive Bar Style bars are characterized by their seediness. Dive Bar-Style bars are more likely to be low-lit, dirtier, and far more easy going. The prices are cheap, there is usually a scuffed up pool table, and you can almost always count on the jukebox having great tunes. You'll also be allowed to belt out your favorites without interrupting anyones meal or high-minded reverie. These places always have a "regular" client-base, and you are most likely not one of them; don't be shocked if a gentleman with an old hat at the end of the bar gets service before you, even if you've been waiting for five minutes. Also, be nice to your bartender at a Dive Bar. Not only is it likely that everyone sitting at the bar is good friends with him/her, the barkeep is also going to remember you: they have less new faces, and yours will stick out, so don't be a dick.
