Hi. I'm just wondering what this site will be all about whenever it becomes known to more UMass people. I already love wikipedia.com, which is great, so I have decent hopes for this as well.

Well, I'm hoping it'll be a source of information for current and prospective UMass students (and their parents). My goal is that it will contain a mix of useful and interesting information. There is a lot of basic info like stuff about campus buildings and academic departments, but any university this big that's been around this long has a lot of lore and history as well, and I'm hoping that some of the articles on the various dorms will eventually come to contain some of that. Also, the official UMass web sites are pretty labyrinthine and hard to navigate at times. I'm looking for UMassWiki to become a combination of a centralized info source on UMass-related topics and a human-edited directory of links to official and useful web sites.
