Thanks to the COM352 students for contributing a bunch of new pages! I'll be moving these pages into the main area of the wiki soon.

Music
You can find out what I'm listening to lately on last.fm.
Last.fm is a cool site where you download a plugin for your music player -- iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, whatever -- and it reports your listening habits back, automatically generating charts for you. That itself is not so cool. What's cooler is that it can recommend you new music based on your taste and create personalized radio stations for you. You can also join groups which have their own charts, and you can tag songs, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
I cannot overstate this enough. Last.fm has revolutionized my musical life. If I'm listening to random stuff in iTunes and a song I like but don't know much about comes up, I click on the Last.fm thingy, which tells me a bit about the band, then links to the web site. The web site tells me the other most popular songs by the band, and oh yeah, here are a few similar artists. Click on a song preview or another artist and if I like what I see/hear, I've just discovered something new that I never would have heard of otherwise.

Hobbies
My hobbies include running an old-school text based BBS, playing Dark Age of Camelot, and general participation in online communities such as
umass_amherst which was the inspiration for UMassWiki.
I'm currently looking for new hobbies that involve physical motion of my body out of the computer chair. :P I've started going to the gym as of January 2007 to do cardio workouts and swimming.
Fungame
I've been nursing an on-again, off-again obsession with Dark Age of Camelot since about two months after its 2001 release. Lately I've been playing again, and if you're into roleplaying or MMORPGs at all, you might want to read about my 10 (!) characters, including a little history behind them and pictures of all 10: clicky
