What is a wiki
From UMassWiki
A wiki is a web site on which any user is able to edit and immediately publish changes. The changes show up immediately, and on most wikis (including this one) the history of changes is preserved. Ward Cunningham came up with the original wiki software.
To try out editing, please visit the UMassWiki:Sandbox and edit it just like any other page -- by clicking the 'edit' tab at the top. See also: Help:Contents for more editing help. But don't worry, it's easy!

The UMass wiki is a wiki specifically for anything and everything to do with UMass Amherst, within certain guidelines. Our aim is to have lots of information about UMass, from fun to serious, so the wiki can be a useful resource for anyone at UMass from freshmen to grad students and faculty. See UMassWiki:About.
